Spring Hill Sweeps Fort Valley State and Benedict

The Spring Hill College Women’s tennis swept both Fort Valley State and Benedict, 7-0, during the SIAC Round-Up II at the Copeland-Cox (Mobile) Tennis Center on Saturday.

The Badgers (12-12, 10-6 SIAC) swept the Wildcats (5-12, 3-10 SIAC) for the third time in a row since 2023. Spring Hill has now won the last 15 meetings between the two programs dating back to 2016.

Claire Bosman and Brooke Powers swept their opponents on the No. 1 court to start the day. Emma Koch and Danielle Day clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 win in the No. 3 spot.

SHC continued its success in singles play and won all six matches. Romina Kroemer swept her opponent on the No. 4 court without yielding a single point (6-0, 6-0).

Spring Hill took its momentum into its final match of the day against Benedict (9-12, 7-8 SIAC). The Badgers earned their second 7-0 sweep in a row against the Tigers.

Emma Paher and Kroemer were awarded a victory by walkover on court No. 3. Bosman and Powers clinched the doubles point for SHC in the No. 1 spot with a 6-1 win.

The Badgers swept all six singles games for the second-straight match. Pager highlighted the wins with a clean sweep (6-0, 6-0) of her opponent on the No. 5 court.
