Spring Hill Sweeps Tuskegee in Season Opener

The Spring Hill College men’s tennis team opened their season with a 7-0 sweep over Tuskegee in the first game of the SIAC Round-Up at the Copeland-Cox (Mobile) Tennis Center on Thursday.

Phillip Bosman and Noah Eberhardcompleted a clean sweep in doubles action, winning 6-0. Paul-Phillip Kern and Tom Gutermann also got a clean sweep in doubles play. Charles Wallace and Hugo Blasco Granell won their doubles match, 6-1.

The sweep continued into singles, with the Badgers not dropping a point. Wallace and Kern earned clean sweeps, winning their matches 6-0.

Match Notes
– The Badgers continued their SIAC sweep streak, not giving up a single point in a match since April 1.
– Bosman, Eberhard and Blasco Granell made their debuts with the Badgers.
– The duo of Gutermann and Kern began conference play with a doubles sweep for the second year in a row.
– Kern opened SIAC singles play with a clean sweep for the second straight year and grew his conference win streak to 12 matches.
– Wallace added a 10th match to his SIAC singles win streak that spans back to Feb. 24.
