The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has released the 2024 NCAA Division II South Region Preseason Poll and Preseason All-Region Team, with the Badgers receiving votes and Jackson Bell being named to the All-Region First Team.

The Badgers received eight points in the preseason poll, falling two short of tying for 10th with West Georgia and Lee (Tenn.). They also finished ahead of fellow Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) member Albany State, who received four points.

Bell earned the preseason honor for the first time in his career. The outfielder from Mobile earned SIAC All-Conference First Team and All-Tournament honors in 2023.

He hit .370 (71-of-192) with 13 doubles, 13 home runs, seven triples and 61 RBIs. The junior college transfer fielded at a .972 pace (97-7-3) in his debut season on The Hill.

Spring Hill will open its season on the road at Sunshine State Conference (SSC) member Florida Tech on Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. (EST).
