Spring Hill College men’s basketball point guard Isaiah Veal was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Veal had an outstanding week in conference play and has been a key figure in the Badgers’ five-game win streak. On Monday, he went off for a career-high 37 points (10-21 FG; 2-3 3FG) while also setting another career record with 15 made free throws. That alongside his career-high two steals helped the Badgers to an 85-83 win over Kentucky State.
On Saturday, Veal and the Badgers hit the road for the first time since December 18. At Lane, the redshirt senior out of San Francisco scored 17 points and recorded four assists to help SHC dominate the Dragons 86-68.
The weekly honor marks the fifth of the season for Spring Hill and the first of the California native’s career.
