Spring Hill Defeats Albany State in SIAC Opener

Spring+Hill+Defeats+Albany+State+in+SIAC+Opener

The Spring Hill College women’s basketball team defeated Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) foe Albany State, 75-67, in its first conference contest of the season at the HPER Gym Complex on Saturday.

The Badgers and Golden Rams traded the lead in the first half. SHC led 18-15 after the first quarter, ASU led 37-29 at the end of the second. Albany State held on to a 53-51 lead through the third quarter and after regulation, the score was tied at 65-65. The Badgers scored 10 of the 12 points in the overtime period to capture the 75-67 conference victory on the road.

Redshirt junior guard Marta Duda led the game with a double-double that was highlighted by 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Golden Rams were led by Keyra Peterson, who tallied 15 points and 9 rebounds.
