The Spring Hill College women’s soccer team fell 1-0 to GSC foe West Georgia in its final regular-season road match at University Field on Sunday.
Spring Hill goalkeeper Carlotta Stark made four saves while facing seven shots in the first half and kept the match at 0-0 through the first 45 minutes. West Georgia scored in the 53rd minute of play to break the stalemate and open scoring.
In the final 30 seconds of play, Sofia Jimenez Garcia took a shot that was deflected by the goalkeeper and nearly headed into the goal by Madison Hitzman. The effort was not enough and the Badgers fell to the Wolves 1-0 on the road.
SHC took six shots in the second half, three of which were on goal. After 90 minutes, Stark totaled five saves while facing 13 shots.
