The Spring Hill College men’s soccer team shut out Union 2-0 in Friday’s Gulf South Conference match at Library Field.
The Badgers were awarded a penalty kick in the 7th minute that Quinn Carper took and scored for his fifth goal of the season. Spring Hill carried the 1-0 lead into the halftime break. Carper kept things going and invited Adrian Rodriguez to join the fun with an assist leading to Rodriguez’s first career goal in the 87th minute. The freshman’s goal sealed the 2-0 shutout victory over the Bulldogs.
Spring Hill took seven shots, placing five on goal while only allowing three on-target shots from Union. The goalkeepers on both sides of the field made three saves apiece.
