Spring Hill College Volleyball’s Mia Saavedra earned the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Newcomer of the Week award, the league announced Monday.
This is the second time this season that Saavedra, a freshman, has earned the weekly conference award.
Saavedra had another outstanding weekend at the SIAC Mini on Saturday. The freshman became the 12th player in Division II this season to record a triple-double with 18 assists, 11 digs, and a career-high 10 kills during a clean sweep of Edward Waters. The Tampa, Fla., native also led the Badgers on the defensive side with 13 digs in a 3-0 sweep over Albany State.
