The Spring Hill College men’s soccer team started Gulf South Conference (GSC) play with a 2-1 victory over Delta State at Delta Field on Friday.
Spring Hill took eight shots and was awarded four corners, all coming in the second half. The Badgers snapped a three-match losing streak with the road victory.
DSU scored first in the 20th minute and carried the 1-0 lead into halftime. Titus Beuckman tallied an assist in his collegiate debut after finding Izan Quesada Leal, who scored in the 55th minute to tie the match at 1-1. Jack Ambrose connected with Quinn Carper in the 69th minute and solidified the 2-1 conference opener victory for the Badgers.
