The Spring Hill College baseball team fell 12-2 in eight innings to Albany State in the SIAC series finale at the ASU West Campus Baseball Field on Sunday.
Jack Taylor led the Badgers (16-11, 11-4 SIAC) with two RBI on one hit. Toran Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate. Seth Williams extended his on-base streak to 19 games.
Albany State (16-7, 13-2 SIAC) started the game off with a pair of runs score through the opening three frames. The Badgers got on the board when Taylor hit a RBI single to center field in the fifth inning.
The Golden Rams responded with a three-run fifth inning. Taylor tried to get a rally going for SHC again in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly to center field.
In the end, Spring Hill was overcome by another scoring run (7-0) from Albany State that ran through the eighth inning. The Badgers suffered a 12-2 run-rule loss to the Golden Rams to finish the conference series.
