The Spring Hill College volleyball team opened its weekend at the SIAC West Cluster II with sweeps over Kentucky State (25-7, 25-14, 25-12) and LeMoyne-Owen (25-14, 25-10, 25-6) at the Knox-Windham Gym/Fair Park Arena on Friday.
Spring Hill opened its run at the Cluster with a clean sweep of Kentucky State. The Badgers recorded 10 service aces and seven blocks while not allowing any from the Thorobreds. SHC hit .440 while holding KSU to .091.
Lille Casey led the match with 10 kills while Mia Saavedra led with 20 assists and six service aces. Saavedra also led the Badgers with 10 digs. Jaylyne Bell led the match defensively with five total blocks.
The Badgers swept LeMoyne-Owen to move to a perfect 15-0 in conference play. Spring Hill recorded 14 service aces to the Magicians’ two. SHC hit .465 while holding LOC to .065.
Casey led her second-straight match in kills (11) and Jessica Fairly led with 25 assists. Airyonna Weaver led the match with four service aces. Mikayla Boyer led defensively with 15 digs.
