Spring Hill College will honor and recognize the 50thanniversary of the 1974 baseball team that won the Southern States Conference and District 27 championships on March 23 at Sims-Galle Field.
During the championship season, the Badgers upset crosstown rival and national powerhouse South Alabama, who at the time was led by legendary head coach Eddie Stanky. The ’74 team, who were coached by the late Stan Galle, will be introduced before the start of the Clark Atlanta game on March 23 at noon.
Tim Size, the starting pitcher for the Badgers on the day of the upset victory over the Jaguars, will throw out the first pitch to Tim Dees, who was the starting catcher that same day.
