The Spring Hill College men’s tennis team fell 4-0 to #16 Auburn Montgomery, suffering their first defeat of the season at the AUM Tennis Complex on Friday.
SHC was swept in both singles and doubles action by AUM, who came in at No. 16 in the latest ITA poll.
The duo of Hugo Blasco Granell and Charles Wallace put up a fight on the No. 3 court, taking the game to a 6-4 final score. Paul-Philipp Kern and Tom Gutermannalso pushed through, taking three points in the 6-3 game.
Kern took his game to the third set (6-2, 1-6, 0-2, unfinished) before the match concluded. Freshman newcomer Noah Eberhard fell in two close singles sets (6-4, 6-4) on the No. 5 court.
