Thirty students were granted free tickets to play laser tag and arcade games while at the Campus Programming Board event at Surge Entertainment on September 22.
Explaining more about the event, president of CPB DiMya Evans said, “Events like we had this Friday at Surge Entertainment allow students to have carefree time, build community on campus and have a little bit of competitive advantage against each other.”
Evans and vice president of CPB De’jah Bailey have been working together to make this event possible. Bailey said, “This event is like a stress reliever for students. So I know midterm exams are coming up and they have lots of homework. So this overall event is just for students to come and feel free.”
Surge officially opened in Shoppes at Bel Air during the summer of 2023. It is located right next to Target. The venue features activities such as bowling, sports simulators, and much more. It also includes a bar and restaurant where the whole family can dine. Students like O’Marion Miller shared their enjoyment while attending Surge. They stated, “I just won a game jackpot, it’s a good experience, y’all should come out here and have a good time”.
“I can definitely say we have a great outcome so many students were happy they had a chance to go and so many more were like oh my god please let us know when y’all have another event!” Evans said.
