As finals are approaching and we wind down the semester, students at Spring Hill College are looking for the perfect place to study. Whether you’re an early riser, a library lover, or someone who loves the outdoors, Spring Hill has plenty of places to study to fit your style.
Cecilia Light, a nursing student and student athlete, is one of those early birds who loves to start her day with a peaceful and focused morning. You can often find her walking over to Carpe Diem with friends, ready to sip on her favorite coffee or tea while working on homework or studying. “I love the music and the people, and it makes studying feel less stressful. Plus, it’s a great way to catch up with friends before diving into assignments.”
On the other end of the spectrum is Talia Vari, a junior who prefers a more scheduled environment when it comes to studying. Talia heads over to the book nook in Burke Library, where she can dive into her work without any distractions. “It is quiet and isolated, which helps me focus and get my work done,” Talia explains. She works best in a quiet environment to get her work done, and there’s no better place than campus.
But for those who would like to be surrounded with a little bit more activity, Woody Brown, a sophomore, enjoys studying outside of Einstein’s on the quad. “I love working outside and being able to chat with people as they pass,” he says. It’s a great balance of getting things done and also feeling connected to the campus life, which is so important for our campus extroverts.
If none of these places speak to you, do not worry, because there are so many other study spots around campus that might be what you need. You could sit outside near the fairways for a new change of scenery. Or look at the student center, which offers cozy spots for group study sessions are individual work. Many dorm buildings also feature quiet study rooms. No matter where you decide to study, it’s important to find a space that works for you to grab your books. Pick your perfect spot and let’s finish the semester strong.
