Two recent Spring Hill College graduates have created their own businesses offering products and services including charcuterie boards, bounce houses, and party rentals.
Catered by Cynthia is a catering company run by Cynthia Nguyen, who graduated from SHC in May 2023. Her business caters products such as customized charcuterie boards and dessert treats. She has catered for multiple organizations, including SHC’s Tri Delta. Her passion for food has allowed her to create this company. Nguyen said, “I started Catered By Cynthia here in the last few years for my love of food. I love hosting and sharing with my family, but with Catering by Cynthia, my main focus is sweet treats and charcuterie boards.”
She currently runs this business on the side while working for her full-time job during the day. Nguyen said, “I work a day job currently, but I would love for, at some point, this be my full-time job.”
Nguyen’s best friend and fellow SHC Class of 2023 graduate, Marianna Jordan, also has a business that serves Mobile and Baldwin County. Jordan uses her business, Bay Bounce Inflatables LLC., to rent out inflatables to parties and events. She said, “I started Bay Bounce in September 2022 with my friend, Emily Hoven, she also graduated from Spring Hill College back in 2019. We offer party rentals, white inflatables, and white bubbles. We also offer Balloon decor.” Jordan and her team deliver the inflatable rentals, set them up, and take them down, allowing her clients a stress-free atmosphere where they do not have to worry about the maintenance of the equipment.
Both Nguyen and Jordan are examples of how Spring Hill students can follow their passions following graduation.
