Spring Hill College baseball’s Walter Guillot was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Playerof the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Guillot had an outstanding debut weekend, leading the Badgers to a series sweep against Clark Atlanta. The freshman right fielder went 9-for-11 with three RBI, three doubles and five runs scored over the weekend. Two of his doubles came in his first-ever collegiate game on Saturday. His highlight came during game two of the series, when he went 4-for-5 with two RBI, a double and one run scored. He was also perfect on defense, going 4-for-4 on putouts. He held a .875 on-base percentage through the series.
