The Spring Hill College women’s tennis finished the SIAC Round-Up II with wins over LeMoyne-Owen (7-0) and Savannah State (7-0) and clinched a spot in the SIAC Tennis Tournament at the Copeland-Cox (Mobile) Tennis Center on Sunday.

Spring Hill (14-12, 12-6 SIAC) started the day with a 7-0 win over LeMoyne-Owen (3-16, 3-16 SIAC). Claire Bosman and Brooke Powers started things off with a 6-0 sweep on the No. 1 court, followed by Emma Koch and Danielle Day(6-0) clinching the doubles point in the No. 3 spot. Emma Pager and Romina Kroemer finished up the doubles sweep for SHC with a 6-3 victory on court No. 2.

Day (6-0, 6-0) started singles play with a clean sweep on the No. 6 court. Powers (6-0, 6-1) earned her eighth-straight conference singles win on court No. 3. Pager (6-0, 6-0) completed the only other clean sweep and clinched the match point in the No. 5 spot.

Bosman (6-2, 6-0), Kroemer (6-2, 6-0) and Koch (6-2, 6-2) all secured singles wins for SHC that completed the 7-0 sweep of the Lady Magicians.

Spring Hill scored one point on each court across both doubles and singles play before Savannah State (9-9, 9-8 SIAC) retired in all of its games. The No. 5 and 6 games went to Pager and Day, respectively, via walkovers.

The win against the Tigers secured the Badgers’ spot in the 2024 Cricket SIAC Women’s Tennis Championship. SHC will make its appearance at the championship for the first time since the 2019 season.

The conference championship is scheduled for April 20-21 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Ga.
