BOXTOROW announced that Spring Hill College guard Walter Peggs Jr. earned a spot on the DII HBCU All-America Second Team on Tuesday.
This is the first All-American honor in Peggs Jr.’s career. The junior guard was previously named to the 2024 SIAC All-Conference First Team earlier this month.
The Jackson, Tenn., native led the SIAC in 3-pointers per game (3.15) and total 3-pointers (82) with his unique shooting technique. He also sat just outside the top-10 nationally in both statistical categories.
He was named the SIAC Player of the Week on three occasions (11/28, 12/5, 12/19) and Newcomer of the Week once (11/21). He led Division II in 3-pointers from Dec. 4-28. He also led the Badgers in scoring with 458 total points (17.6 per game) and 144 field goals through the regular season. Peggs was instrumental in key wins over Clark Atlanta, Edward Waters and LeMoyne-Owen.
He joins a select list of Badgers who have garnered the national honor; including Beril Kabamba (2023) and Chase Shellman (2020).
