Throughout the week of March 4, the Center for Career and Academic Success and Advising (CASA) provided students with the opportunity to learn and explore future careers in the city of Mobile.

Many students were able to take advantage of this opportunity. Senior Jordan Gibbs said, “I think it has helped a lot. I like how the campus brings a lot of different businesses here and sends out an email to anybody that is willing and able to come out here.”

With a diverse group of businesses in attendance, there was something to strike everyone’s interest. Gibbs commented, “Walking around I see there are different things like health care, education, and, something for me, which is IT like information systems. I think they do a good job of making sure it’s not one set, it’s a whole bunch of people.”

Having a wide variety of businesses is not only helpful
in giving students something they would be interested in,
the career fair also allowed students to observe what future employers are prioritizing during the hiring process. Director of CASA, Jenna Hallenback stated, “With career week this week, it has provided those milestones and stepping stones to help them get the job, the interviews, the resume writing, and the job search.” She continued, “So by bringing in all the different organizations on campus, it allows students to just have this one-stop to connect with future employers, present themselves in their best light, and hand in their resume. We’ve made it much easier for them to make those connections.”
