The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced on Wednesday that Spring Hill College’s Hugo Blasco Granelland Brooke Powers were named Men’s and Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, respectively.

Both student-athletes earned their first weekly conference awards of their careers. Powers garnered the first weekly award for the women’s squad this season, while Blaso Granell took the second weekly honor of the year for the men.

Blasco Granell remains undefeated in singles play (6-0) after defeating his opponents from Mobile (6-2, 6-4) and Bethel (Tenn.) (6-7, 7-5, 6-4) over the last week of competition.

Powers (10-1), a freshman, continued her breakout debut season with wins in singles play against a ranked Mobile (4-6, 6-2, 10-7) team and Bethel (3-6, 6-2, 10-7).
