The Spring Hill College men’s basketball team’s season came to an end after a 66-62 loss to Edward Waters in the second round of the 2024 SIAC Basketball Championship presented by Cricket at Tiger Arena on Wednesday.

The Badgers (14-13, 11-9 SIAC) kept the game close to start, not allowing more than a four-point lead by the Tigers (12-17, 9-11 SIAC) through a majority of the first half. Edward Waters held a 33-27 lead over Spring Hill at the halftime break.

SHC continued to put up a fight, tying the game five times over the course of the second half. Despite their efforts, the Badgers fell to the Tigers 66-62 and saw an impactful season come to an end.

Spring Hill finished the year with the most single-season overall and conference wins in the program’s Division II era.

They Said It – Head Coach Craig Kennedy
On the game
“It is a disappointing loss at the end of what has been a really good season. You have to give Edward Waters credit – they really attacked the glass in the first half and hit a couple of big shots. My heart breaks for our seniors, Isaiah Veal and Ashton Hawkins. They have been great seniors and worthy of signing the Wall of Honor over the door in the locker room forever contributing to the legacy of Spring Hill College basketball. After the required NCAA time off, we will get back at it and prepare for next season. We appreciate the support of our fans and alumni and friends who texted us and came out in support of the guys.”
