SHC’s Season Ends at SIAC Championship

SHC%E2%80%99s+Season+Ends+at+SIAC+Championship

The Spring Hill College women’s basketball team fell 58-41 to Albany State in the opening round of the 2024 SIAC Basketball Championship presented by Cricket at Tiger Arena on Monday.

SIAC Newcomer of the Year Marta Duda recorded her 10th double-double of the season, highlighted by a game-leading 11 rebounds and team-leading 10 points. SIAC Freshman of the Year Kellyn Hunter also led Spring Hill (6-18, 6-13 SIAC) in scoring alongside Duda with 10 points.

Despite a slow start, the Badgers brought themselves within striking distance (11-10) by the start of the second quarter. They kept the Golden Ram lead down to six points through the end of the half.

Albany State pulled away in the third quarter and led Spring Hill the rest of the way. In the end, SHC’s season came to an end with the 58-41 loss to ASU in the opening round of the conference tournament.

The Badgers ended the year with their best record (6-18, 6-13 SIAC) since the 2019-20 season.
