Spring Hill College softball pitcher Leighanna Turk was named the SIAC Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Turk pitched a complete game in Monday’s 10-0 run-rule win against Miles that completed the series sweep. She struck out six batters and scattered four hits while giving up no runs across 6.0 innings. Turk leads the Badgers in strikeouts (35).
The weekly honor marked the first for the sophomore out of Bay Minette, Ala. This is the second Pitcher of the Week award for SHC this season.
